The design of the thesis is meant to convey the overall debate that the text raises, which is whether the works of female artists could contribute towards the collation of a Pan Arab archive. The analysis communicates the need to preserve information like visual records, interviews and critical texts. That is to understand and analyse different scraps of information and assimilate them together to form an archive that stresses on similarities and differences in the way female artists present their themes.
The general design follows formal methods of archiving where information is usually coded and kept in cardboard folders and boxes. This is to stress on how the Arab archive should not be embellished with oriental patterns that distract its receivers from the importance of its ethological, cultural and political value.
